I must admit I never looked at Gene Kelly's ass before, but uhm WOW. Life has taken on a new meaning. p.s. I performed as Carmen Miranda singing "The Lady in the Tutti Frutti Hat" for my senior class review.
I fully sat up in bed and scrolled to the bottom as soon as I saw this post just to make sure that the #1 pick was correct. Of course it is. I should never have doubted you.
I am 76 years old and autism spectrum disordered. I can't sing or dance or even clap my hands in rhythm, but I am a good listener. Good Morning is on many of my play lists . My wife is a philosopher and reader. She wasted her life teaching imbeciles how to think.😜
Actually she accomplished amazing things without ever thinking about herself only about the future and at 86 she can read whenever she wants sleep whenever she wants as long as I am her dance partner Gene Kelly's genius was his ability to bring out the best (worst?) in everybody
The universe is five dimensional. In 1933 Duck Soup was a comedy in 2024 it is a Soap Opera My father in law went to Michigan with Arthur Miller and suddenly Death of a Salesman is comedy and The Crucible is The Supreme Court of Inquisition. It like Confuse a Cat a Monty Python Skit gone a Rye. When a body meets a body
I watched The Pirate TODAY and wish to draw your attention to Gene in ripped short shorts in the sabre ballet, AND the moment where Judy spanks him. But truly this article is a gift!
My Dad was was a serious music guy and a Singin' in the Rain FANATIC. He and several of his friends had his sort of weird geek competition as to the weirdest places (and projections) of Singin' in the rain they saw. Weird dubs, odd locations, you get the picture. On at trip to Rome that several of them had won while working in an ad agency in the 60s, they saw it dubbed in Italian. Dad blew them all out of the water when, on a business trip to Japan in the 80s, he caught it at a local cinema dubbed in Japanese and SUBTILED IN RUSSIAN!
He loved Gene Kelly (though I've always felt that without Donald O'Connor, that film never would have worked), he described it to me, "women wanted to take care of Fred Astaire. Men wanted to BE Gene Kelly"
Dad was pretty great, infuriating at times but great nonetheless!
I'm afraid, lovely as you are, you would've been out of luck — my mother was a truly incredible woman and he never even noticed another woman after they met at Stanford...
Mom was not only the smartest person in any room she was ever in, she was also an immensely talented person, a gifted painter and she taught herself to be one of the best antique restorers in the country. Did I mention that she was a knock out?
My friend and I are on a stroll tonight and I read your first comment about Singin’ in the Rain aloud to her and we talked about you and your lovely family on our walk! You all seem really, really cool. Lovely to connect with you!
I didn't know I needed this, and it's disturbing that I didn't know. I *needed* this. Merry Christm-ass to all, and to all a good ass!
Truly one of the hottest men
Of all TIME!
