I watched this great television show as it aired and I remember distinctly, as the second half of the final season arrived on Netflix, I hoped that Bojack would *not* die. I knew it wasn’t hurtling towards some dramatically happy ending, but I had just seen The Rise of Skywalker (mistake) and I was really tired of redemption arcs ending in tidy deaths. Stay alive, damnit, and reckon with the consequences! Anyway, I’m really glad to have read this and pondered more about the great ending. It really felt like the only thing that could have happened.
It was a young Jonathan Swift who wrote Gulliver's Travels and met with Voltaire in Mayfair. The head of The Church of Ireland proved too much a reward for his old soul after his Modest Proposal was published before Ireland had heard of potatoes or patatoes. It was the neoliberal The Economist that championed the Irish Starvation 1845-1850. History is not that friendly to Whigs like Edmund Burke and Thomas Woodrow Wilson. Josef Goebbels credits Woodrow Wilson's Committee on Public Information as the FOUNDATION of THE THIRD REICH.
Wow, that was a great essay.
I agree! I’m so proud to host it and to have been the one to ask that it be written!
Is "emotional janitor" specifically mentioned in the show? I really love it
I don’t recall myself - @B.J. Anderson can you tell us?
I don't think the show used that term specifically (at least not as far as I remember), though the sentiment was definitely expressed a few times!
It’s SUCH a sharp and incisive phrase!
